Our goal is to support busy Black women in prioritizing their self care using the local resources and services in their city. We loved helping Khadijah do just that and are looking forward to supporting her with her self care routine for the rest of the year!
To begin every self care routine profile and to understand where to begin and what to focus on, we will be using the 6 self care foundations .
I wanted to make sure Khadijah’s self care resources were flexible and effective. Many of her goals are centered around knowing the information she needs and understanding how they can help her reach her health and self care goals.
Fun fact : Not all the “good” information out there is the best for you. It’s all about taking the information retrieved and concluded from evidence based research, and then applying it to elements of your self care routine that will best suit you and your lifestyle.
Physical Health and Curl Care:
Khadijah wanted support in becoming consistent with her beginner fitness journey, while also maintaining healthy and fun hairstyles.
Khadijah received a complimentary skin and hair consultation. This is not only a fun way to start this self care transformation, but also a great way to get a professional’s input who specializes in her concerns and can work on her skin and hair in person. We want her to get optimal results, and that means we need to begin with precise recommendations and analyses.
Nutrition and Mental Health:
Khadijah needed support in finding resources she could use to keep track of her nutrition, meals, mental health and the relationships among them.
For the first two weeks, we’ll be focusing on addressing the initial resources for her goals and what she’ll be able to sustain in the long term. We will be using this post to update you on our progress so join our weekly newsletter to see what we add to Khadijah’s self care routine in the next few weeks!
